Development of the surroundings of Dock 713
The proposal seeks to respond in an architectural and urban way to 3 major challenges: limiting the speed of entry into the city, offering parking near new facilities and qualitatively articulating the quays and the city center.
All the fittings and furniture continue the aesthetic renewal of the city initiated by the rehabilitation of DOCK 713 and the tourist office.
They must be durable and resistant to possible flooding of the Loire. The floor is intended to be unified throughout the intervention by tinted concrete slabs. In order to delimit the pedestrian spaces at the same level of the street, corten steel cubes alternate with wooden posts. The difference in height and materials create a less steep rhythm than the classic series of posts. The benches are also in tinted concrete, the bins and other urban equipment reflect the choice of the facade of the DOCK 713 and its corten steel. Green 'docks' are installed in front of the ground floor of the cultural space. In summer, the development invested by an ephemeral guinguette creates a contemporary urban space in relation to the Loire and the canal bridge.
